'A Pirrera
The word “pirrera”, from the French dialect “pierrière”, refers in Sicilian to a quarry from which minerals are extracted. For centuries, stonecutters (“perratores” in Catalan, from which the Sicilian term “pirriaturi” derives) have worked the local lava stone, making it a central element in the construction and “reconstruction” of this part of Sicily. It has been a defining feature of its unique monumental character, but also a source of building speculation and, eventually, of the “voids” created by excavation (le pirrere), which over the centuries have given rise to magical urban textures. The inspiration is clear: lava stone, the elegant protagonist of our landscape—warm, decisive, full of character—just like our wine.Pirrera Bianco stands out for its straw-yellow colour with subtle coppery hues. On the nose, it offers aromatic notes of tropical fruit and dried flowers, while on the palate it is fresh and distinctly mineral. Perfect with fish dishes and fresh cheeses, it is a refined expression of the unique volcanic soils of Mount Etna. Best served between 12°C and 14°C to fully appreciate its qualities.

This Sicilian white wine comes from the north-eastern slopes of Mount Etna, a region renowned for its unique volcanic soils, which impart distinctive characteristics to the wines grown here. Classified as Indicazione Geografica Protetta (I.G.P.) “Terre Siciliane”, this wine is a true expression of territorial excellence.
